Sports & Recreation
The Sports and Active Communities team supports and assists the ongoing growth and development of community groups within the region. We are committed to growing an active community that everybody enjoys, and we are proud of.
To support this commitment, Council Officers maintain a close working relationship with the Department of Tourism and Sport (DTS), which has developed an invaluable resource called ClubIQ. This serves as a comprehensive guide for all Queensland sport and recreation clubs, providing the essential framework needed to successfully manage and operate a community group or club.
ClubIQ offers resources and guidance on a variety of important topics, including:
- Staff and volunteer management
- AGM templates
- Club governance and organisation
- Managing club finances
- Strategic planning
- Disaster readiness
- Making healthier and safer club decisions
Rockhampton Regional Council's community and club direction aligns with DTS's vision through ClubIQ. Council encourages all existing and new groups to utilise this resource to enhance their management and operational practices.
