Council Meetings

The Ordinary meetings of Council are set in accordance with Sections 257 of the Local Government Regulation 2012 and are open for public attendance (some items may be closed to the public during the meeting to allow for discussion of confidential matters, this is known as 'Closed Session').

On some occasions matters may need to be considered before the next scheduled meeting of Ordinary Council.  In such cases a Special meeting will be called.

Rockhampton Regional Council Ordinary meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, commencing at 9:00am.

Committee Meetings 

The Infrastructure Committee meetings and the Communities Committee meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, commencing at 9:00am and 11:00am respectively.

Meetings are generally held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 232 Bolsover Street, Rockhampton, however occasionally meetings may be required to be held in other locations.

Council Meeting Procedures

Rockhampton Regional Council adopted its Meeting Procedures at the Ordinary Council meeting on 11 June 2024.

Petitions

A petition may be tabled on behalf of constituents by either a Councillor or the Chief Executive Officer at the first available Ordinary meeting of Council.

Deputations

Deputations are the process for a member of the public or a group to be able to speak or deliver a presentation to either a Committee or Council Meeting.
