It’s time to hit the ground running and get training for the annual 7Rocky River Run with early bird registrations closing soon!

Central Queensland’s largest annual charity running event will be held on Sunday, 22 May 2022 with over $2,500 in prize money up for grabs in the 21km, 10km and 5km races.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said whether you’re a competitive participant or not, the 7Rocky River Run is one of the greatest fundraisers on the events calendar in CQ with over 2,000 participants supporting the event in 2021.

“We know there are so many keen participants out there and the event has rightfully earned a reputation as one of our most popular sporting events,” said Mayor Williams.

“Whether you’re a competitive runner vying for a new personal best, or if you just want to grab some friends for a fun team challenge, it’s for a great cause and always a great morning out.”

Seven Queensland Sales Director, Mr Greg Gabel, said Central Queensland is an important regional centre for the television business which is invested in the long-term success of the event.

"Seven Queensland continues its long-held commitment to the 7Rocky River Run because we know how important these events are for the social fabric of the community. The atmosphere of this event is electric; the course is second to none, and there's something for everyone. We encourage everyone to be part of this special morning, whether it is to compete or show support for the local community, business and charity,” said Mr Gabel.

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Mr Greg Bowden said 7Rocky River Run showcases our stunning river views and bridge crossings with the race start and finish in front of our historic Customs House.

“The 7Rocky River Run is the largest charity run in Central Queensland and we are encouraging locals to invite friends and family to visit Rockhampton and compete in one of our most popular sporting events.

“We’re encouraging the community to cheer runners across the finish line and help us support race charities R U OK and Ronald McDonald House Charities,” said Mr Bowden.
