Advancing The Rockhampton Region

Published on 13 April 2016

As Rockhampton Regional Council’s Smart Way Forward program is about to take off, local businesses are invited to a Mayoral Businesses Forum next Friday, 22 April.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said it’s in businesses, and small and medium sized enterprises especially, that our community thrives.

“We’re making our tools, resources and people available in an open forum to help make our region ready for the future,” Mayor Strelow said.

“We want businesses to not only benefit from, but contribute, to that progression and our forum will give them a platform to do so.

“I understand all businesses are different, and a successful program will provide different benefits and will require different contributions of knowledge and experience from all of our local businesses.

“What we’re making is a place to start.”

Key speakers on the day include Executive Chairman of Glentworth Consulting, Neil Glentworth, and Rockhampton Regional Council’s new Senior Digital officer, Gareth Martin who will be driving this initiative for Council and local businesses.

The Advance Rockhampton Region forum is the first of a series of forums that will be held throughout the year. Each forum will focus on a topic of strategic and economic importance and will feature guest speakers from relevant industries.
