Community Assistance Program now open
Published on 28 September 2015
Is your not-for-profit organisation planning a community event, a Christmas or Australia Day celebration, or does it need funding to enhance club facilities?
Then apply now for round two of Rockhampton Regional Council’s 2015/2016 Community Assistance Program (CAP). CAP provides assistance through one-off community grants and sponsorship for projects and events.
Rockhampton Regional Council’s Communities Committee Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said the program had already helped ten organisations this financial year and was encouraging more groups to apply.
“In the first round, Council provided just over $38,000 to 10 organisations for projects including open days and cultural celebrations as well as helping with club house maintenance or facilities,” Cr Swadling said.
“We want groups to apply for the CAP grants as they can really give their event a boost, which at the end of the day continues to ensure our community has a wide range of experiences to enjoy.”
This round of CAP closes on Wednesday 11 November and is for projects commencing after 8 December 2015.
Community groups seeking funding are required to meet specific criteria relating to building capacity and self sufficiency of communities and disadvantaged groups, strengthening our social inclusion and collaboration, and enhancing our Region’s overall liveability.
Application forms and information guides are available from Council’s Libraries and Customer Service Centres, online here or by calling 4932 9000.
