Set more than 600 metres above sea level and boasting breathtaking panoramic views of Rockhampton city and the surrounding ranges, Mount Archer could provide the ultimate opportunity for one lucky business owner or entrepreneur.

Rockhampton Regional Council is calling for public interest for commercial opportunities at Fraser Park, Mount Archer.

Mayor Margaret Strelow said she cannot wait to see what business ideas are put forward by the community and business operators.

“I’m thrilled Council can provide such a rare and incredible opportunity as this,” Mayor Strelow said.

“There has been so much transformation in this area of late - the elevated boardwalk, nature play, car parking and amenities - it only makes sense to now call for expressions of interest for who would create something unique in this space.

“There is a building on the site already which was formerly used as a café. This of course could be reopened, but we’re not just restricting the EOI to this.

“Food and beverage ventures, day spas, a retreat, or something completely different – I am eager to see what ideas come to Council for consideration.

“Just last month, Mount Archer received international accolades, named by TripAdvisor as a 2020 Travellers’ Choice Winner.

“Only the world’s best attractions can become Travellers’ Choice Winners, and that speaks for itself in just how much potential there is for a business to not only be developed here but to really thrive.”

EOIs are now open.
