Council announces recipients of Community Assistance Program funding

Rockhampton Regional Council has granted more than $80,000 to local community groups and clubs through the latest round of the Community Assistance Program.

Communities and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said that Council was delighted with the number of strong applications received and the range of projects that will soon be rolled out through the funding assistance.

“The Community Assistance Program is all about assisting local not-for-profit organisations achieve their goals and carry out projects that benefit the entire community,” Cr Wickerson said.

“We are thrilled to again be able to provide this support through the second round of the 2022-23 program.

“We have been able to provide funding assistance to 27 local groups, who over the upcoming months, will carry out a wide range of projects – from sports carnivals to major events, Environmental Sustainability initiatives and much more!

The annual program supported 44 organisations with 48 projects this financial year, seeing more than $226,000 dollars of funding support provided to the Region.

The first round of the 2023- 24 Community Assistance Program will open 22 May 2023
