Council announces recipients of Community Assistance Program funding

Rockhampton Regional Council has granted more than $26,000 to local community groups and clubs through the latest round of the Community Assistance Program.

Chair of Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Rose Swadling said that Council was delighted with the number of strong applications received and the range of projects that will soon be rolled out through the funding assistance.

“The Community Assistance Program is all about supporting local not-for-profit organisations achieve their goals and carry out projects that benefit the entire community,” Cr Swadling said.

“Through the first round of the 2017-18 program, we have been able to provide funding assistance to eight local groups, who over the upcoming months, will carry out a wide range of projects - from fish restocking to club infrastructure upgrades.”

The annual program supported 78 local organisations with 83 projects last financial year, seeing more than $380,000 dollars of funding support provided to the Region.

The second round of the 2017-18 Community Assistance Program will open 16 October, 2017.
