Rockhampton Regional Council crews are continuing the clean-up following the weekend’s wet weather.
Parts of the Rockhampton region have received more than 220mm of rainfall since Friday, with the possibility of more showers today.
Five roads are currently closed. These are:
- Riverslea Road at Fitzroy River Crossing, Gogango
- Glenroy Crossing at Fitzroy River, Glenroy
- Struck Oil Road
- South Yaamba Road at Deep Creek, Alton Downs, and
- Roopes Bridge at Roopes Crossing, Port Curtis.
Water is also reported across Old Baree Road, Baree and Showgrounds Road, Horse Creek.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said Council crews were presently assessing the rural road network.
Mayor Strelow said five crews were also on the road fixing pot holes, three removing debris and another checking known stormwater hotspots where debris could cause blockages.
She urged motorists to be cautious, particularly on gravel roads, and to drive to conditions.
“If it’s flooded, forget it,” Mayor Strelow said.
Further road updates will be posted on Council’s website and Facebook page.
