Don’t Miss Rockhampton’s Free Australia Day Event
Published on 11 January 2024
Due to forecasted weather conditions, Great Australian Bites Rockhampton has been relocated from Kershaw Gardens to an indoor venue – Rockhampton Showgrounds, Robert Schwarten Pavilion, with pedestrian entry via Gate 2 on Exhibition Road.
Great Australian Bites is back in 2024 with an absolutely jam-packed stage program, food trucks, markets, amusements and games on Friday, January 26th at Rockhampton Showgrounds in the Robert Schwarten Pavilion.
Mayor Tony Williams is excited for the community to enjoy Council’s second Country on Kershaw concert as part of our seventh Great Australian Bites event.
"Great Australian Bites will deliver a sensational line-up of talent, headlined by rising country sensation Cassidy-Rae, and supported by incredible local acts Zac Cross Band, Tony Cook Band, Louise James FX, Kate Mahood and Rachael Dee," Mayor Williams said.
"Council is excited to once again deliver a much-loved community event at Rockhampton Showgrounds for Australia Day with free entry, free kids’ activities, free entertainment, and free games for all ages."
“Starting at 3pm, Great Australian Bites promises a true-blue Aussie experience with delicious food, bustling markets, and a range of activities, including Aussie games, inflatable obstacle courses, and face painting.”
Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager Zac Garven would like to extend the invitation to our wider community and encourage attendees to make a weekend of it in Rockhampton.
"Being blessed with a long weekend this year, we invite residents to share their Australia Day celebrations at the Rockhampton Showgrounds with family and friends,” Mr Garven said.
“Join us for a relaxed afternoon of exceptional country music talent, a range of delicious food, licensed bar and backyard games – can you get more Aussie than that?”
