For a fun-filled school holiday, check out the great range of activities to keep the kids busy from Rockhampton Regional Council. It’s an exciting line up and most of them are free!

Council’s Communities Chair Councillor Rose Swadling and Council’s Parks and Recreation Chair Councillor Cherie Rutherford said there were boundless opportunities indoors and outdoors with an exciting line up of activities.

“Parents and carers will find something to keep children of all ages entertained during the Easter School Holidays, particularly since most of them are free or low cost,” Cr Swadling said.

“There’s a great range of fun activities at our libraries including the very popular Anime and Manga drawing club, 3-D printing and a Mario Kart tournament to name a few.

“For a bit of history and tradition, take the family to our fabulous Heritage Village for a ride on the stage coach or vintage car, or you can take a fascinating tour and step back in time.”

Councillor Cherie Rutherford said children of all ages can explore our parks, gardens and the great outdoors with a host of activities.

“We have Art in the Park and Connecting Kids to Nature workshops where they can explore mini-beasts and insects on the forest floor, and take adventure walks at our beautiful Botanic Gardens,” Cr Rutherford said.

“The Rockhampton Zoo is always a great place to explore and our pools across the region are open, so it’s a great opportunity to splash around before the weather gets a bit cooler.

“It’s easy to entertain the littlies and older ones with our great activities, so wherever you live across the Region, there’s always something wonderful and fun to do!”
