Would you like to help represent all of the fun and excitement of the Rockhampton Agricultural Show in 2020?

Entries have opened for Miss Showgirl, Junior Miss Showgirl, and Rural Ambassador 2020, so throw your hat in the ring today!

Communities Chair Councillor Rose Swadling encouraged young people in our region to put their hand up for the competition.

“We are very proud of our young people, who do a fantastic job of representing the best of rural and regional Australia every day,” said Cr Swadling.

“This competition is our chance to recognise some of the exceptional young men and women in our community.

“It’s also a great opportunity for competitors to improve their skills in leadership, enhance their confidence and meet other young minds with the same interests.”

Current Miss Showgirl Natasha Hodda said the competition offers more than meets the eye.

“A Miss Showgirl needs to be passionate about what she believes in and possess a warm and pleasant attitude,” said Ms Hodda.

“She also needs to have a general idea of the rural community whilst understanding what our farmers need to help the younger generations to come,”

“I hope I have inspired ladies in our community, to take this opportunity to participate in the 2020 Miss Showgirl Rockhampton Competition and raise awareness for our Show Society.”

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Miss Showgirl Award: Women aged between 18 and 28, unmarried, living in the Rockhampton and surrounding communities.
  • Junior Miss Showgirl Award: Young women aged between 13 and 17 years living in Rockhampton and surrounding communities.
