Rockhampton Regional Council is certainly barking up the right tree when it comes to the importance of responsible pet management. You could almost say it’s a purrrfect approach!
Chair of Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee, Councillor Ellen Smith said Council has partnered with the RSPCA for ‘Operation Wanted’ – a campaign offering residents a 20% discount on cat and dog desexing at local vets.
“Council has always strongly supported the excellent work of the RSPCA and has again joined with them for Operation Wanted, encouraging pet owners to desex their animals,” Cr Smith said.
“Council is encouraging pet owners across the Region to take advantage of this campaign which provides discounted desexing from June through to the end of August,” Cr Smith said.
“Apart from the obvious benefits to the animals, residents will also save with discounted desexing costs of 20% at a number of vets across the Region, not to mention feeling good that your pet will not cost you with unwanted or unplanned litters.”
