Grow your career with Council in 2018

Rockhampton Regional Council’s 2018 Apprentice and Trainee intake is now open and job seekers are encouraged to apply.

Rockhampton Regional Council CEO Evan Pardon said Council’s Apprentice and Trainee program always attracts great interest with many opportunities across a range of work areas.

“The program trains, encourages and mentors successful applicants across a number of different sections of the organisation so they gain significant skills and a thorough understanding of Council, which can lead to a permanent position,” Mr Pardon said.

“We have several employees within our organisation who started off as trainees or apprentices and have continued to work with Council for many years; some have even progressed their career to a management position.

“Our aim is to grow and develop their skills and our workforce as a whole while also providing opportunities for employment to our local residents.

“We have a total of 17 positions available this year and I would encourage anyone who is looking for a new career to jump on our website and apply,” Mr Pardon said.

After completing the relevant period of hands-on learning, as well as the theoretical components of a traineeship or apprenticeship, participants will have a nationally recognised qualification, valuable work experience and the opportunity to apply for career progressing roles within Council.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships with Council provide an entry level opportunity for applicants to obtain a Nationally Recognised Qualification with an employer of choice.

Council has a number of positions available in a range of fields this year:

  • Apprentice Gardener
  • Apprentice Fitter
  • Business Administration Trainees
  • Pest Management Trainee
  • Civil Construction Trainee
  • Warehouse Trainee
  • Safety Trainee

Applications close Sunday, 24th September 2017.
