Invitation to enhance Defence and Industry skills
Published on 29 January 2015
Rockhampton Regional Council has extended an invitation to the organisers of the Defence Industry Study Course to visit Rockhampton as part of its 2015 study program.
The course is open to defence industry executives, senior contractors and other defence leaders who wish to have a close-up look at how the Defence Materials Organisation does business.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said our community and businesses have worked hard to ensure the support we provide to Defence adds value to their training.
“As part of the visit, those taking part in the course will be provided with briefings on infrastructure and industries from the Rockhampton Region which are relevant to defence,” she said.
“This visit, which has been arranged in conjunction with Council’s Defence Consultant Graeme Mickelberg, will provide defence industry leaders with a clear insight into Rockhampton Region’s capacities.”
Rockhampton has been associated with training conducted by the Australian Defence Force at Shoalwater Bay Training Area since the first exercise was held in 1966.
