Join the festivities at the CBD Christmas Fair this Saturday!

Rockhampton Regional Council is getting into the festive spirit, with the annual CBD Christmas Fair, set for this Saturday, 7 December 2024.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said Council is proud to bring the community together for the highly anticipated CBD Christmas Fair, set to light up Quay Street and the Riverside Precinct this Saturday.

“This free family event has become a highlight of our festive season, offering something for everyone; from free arts and crafts for kids, a petting zoo, and market stalls, to delicious food vendors, an outdoor cinema, and, of course, photos with Santa,” Mayor Williams said.

“The lighting of the Christmas tree at 7.45pm is a magical moment for our community, and I invite everyone to join us at the Riverside for the official start of Christmas in Rockhampton.”

Santa Claus has some magical news for all the little ones in Rockhampton.

“Ho, ho, ho! We’ve set up a special letterbox straight from the North Pole outside Customs House, ready to collect your Christmas wish lists!"

"To help you get started, there will be a letter-writing station at the CBD Christmas Fair where my helpers will be on hand to guide you in creating your perfect letter. Remember to include your home address and drop your letter off before 9 December – that’s the cutoff to guarantee a reply from me before Christmas Day!"

Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager, Zac Garven, noted that alongside the CBD Christmas Fair, Explore Rockhampton has launched an online hub dedicated to all things Christmas across the Rockhampton Region at www.explorerockhampton.com.au/Christmas.

"The online hub will make it easy to find all the festive events happening in our region this season," Mr Garven said.

"From a self-guided tour of Christmas lights and Carols by Candlelight to the Heritage Village Christmas Markets and local community carol events, Rockhampton is shining bright this Christmas."
