It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life for me. And I’m feeling good!

Feeling good, fit and healthy will be easy with more than 100 health providers expected to participate at the CQ Health 2016 Sports and Health Expo on Sunday 28 February at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.

Rockhampton Regional Council’s Parks and Recreation Committee Chair Councillor Cherie Rutherford said now was the time for sporting, health and recreation groups to showcase their programs and inspire our community for 2016.

“The most popular New Year resolutions are generally around eating healthy, exercising regularly or drinking less alcohol – all journeys that people need some support and guidance with - and the Expo will be a great source of information and inspiration,” Cr Rutherford said.

“We’re encouraging our local sport, fitness and health groups to participate and register now so they can showcase their activities and programs for 2016 and encourage our community to get on board.”

This year will be the Region’s ninth annual Sports Expo, and Cr Rutherford said she’s expecting it to be bigger than ever with organisers hoping to attract more than 2500 people to the event.

“More and more people attend every year to learn about and sign up for activities, get health checks through CQ Health or simply check out the wide variety of recreation initiatives across the region, which shows our community is embracing a healthy lifestyle,” she said.

The CQ Health 2016 Sports and Health Expo will be held on Sunday 28 February and will feature local sporting clubs, gyms, health service providers and retailers, and most importantly everything you need to KickStart your New Year’s Resolution.

Along with a wide range of information, the Expo will feature come and try activities, free amusement rides and giveaways.
