As the countdown to Beef2024 enters its final stretch, Rockhampton Regional Council is gearing up to make 2024 the best and most interactive event yet.
With less than 100 days remaining, Rockhampton Regional Council revealed new details of its city activations and visitor experience initiatives.
The package which will be delivered by Council in partnership with Beef Australia will ensure visitors and locals alike have the best experience of Beef2024 as well as enjoy many of the other excellent destinations and activities across the Rockhampton Region.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said that as a principal partner of Beef Australia, Council was proud to be supporting this year’s event.
“This is the largest event to occur in the region and a massive drawcard for national and international visitors,” Mayor Williams said.
“We know that Beef2024 will put the Rockhampton region on the map, and we will be doing our part to ensure that people have the very best experience of Beef and our region.
“With individual activations at the Rockhampton Airport, public art trails, fitness classes and self-guided experiences through the Explore Rockhampton app, we will be giving people even more to celebrate the great culture, story, and legacy of our beef industry.
“We will also be providing a free shuttle bus from the Rockhampton CBD and surrounds to the event to ensure safe, accessible and carefree transfers to the event.
“In the midst of covid, Beef2021 saw 115,000 people through the gates. With the return of our international visitors, we anticipate that this record number can be broken, and we will be working with the Beef Australia team to give that our best shot.”
Beef Australia CEO Simon Irwin said with less than 100 days to go until the gates open to Beef2024, the team have shifted from the planning to the execution phase of the event.
“The Beef2024 program is shaping up to be one of the best yet, with more beef, more trade, more tech, more education, and more entertainment across a brand-new precinct-based program,” Mr Irwin said.
“We have a stronger focus on welcoming locals through the gates, with a new daily and weekly discounted Twilight Pass and free entertainment program on offer in the M’Eat Street Precinct.
“We launched tickets in October 2023, the earliest Beef Australia tickets have ever gone on sale, and the response has been nothing but phenomenal.
“The fact that numerous events like our Celebrity Chef lunches and dinners and about 75% of our social functions have already sold out speaks volumes about the excitement surrounding Beef2024.”
Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager, Zac Garven is looking forward to the opportunity to host several city tours during the event, showcasing some of our amazing tourism and hospitality experiences.
“This year, there will be four exciting city tours, a unique blend of cultural exploration, historical insights, and culinary experiences, catering to different interests and age groups,” Mr Garven said.
“Explore Rockhampton has also launched a dedicated webpage, with the goal to make sure a visit to the Rockhampton region is an unforgettable experience.
“From self-guided tours exploring the history of this incredible event or a list of the top spots for an incredible steak, it’s all in the one place – a virtual tour guide at your fingertips!”
