The Riverbank Revitalisation is set serve up a new dining experience for Rockhampton with the team behind the acclaimed Headricks Lane awarded the tender for the city’s newest riverfront dining venue, The Pier.

Set within the new waterfront pier structure, the lease encompasses the upper level restaurant and bar area with its wrap around balcony features floor to ceiling glass walls on the waterfront making the building appear to float over the iconic Fitzroy River.

Mayor Margaret Strelow congratulated local hospitality team Light Group on their successful tender.

“Headricks Lane is one of our recent success stories and the fact that this has business has the confidence to expand its operations locally is fantastic news for our city’s restaurant scene,” Mayor Strelow said.

“This new restaurant will become another vibrant destination venue for the region and it shows the market is receptive to the opportunities being provided through the Riverbank Revitalisation.

“We have some truly outstanding dining experiences here in our region and top-tier restaurants paired with our world class produce is a recipe for success when it comes to our region’s growing reputation.

“I’d like to thank the community who have supported this project and put their ideas out on social media and we are confident that everyone is going to love what the Pier will offer,” Mayor Strelow said.

The Pier will begin construction in coming weeks and is on schedule to be open for business early in the New Year.
