Mayor Strelow discusses NDRRA funding with Premier Palaszczuk

The Hon Annastacia Palaszczuk, MP Premier of Queensland and Minister for The Arts today met with Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow to view the impact of TC Marcia and to discuss Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) funding.

Mayor Strelow showed Premier Palaszczuk around the Rockhampton Zoo to highlight the scale of work currently being undertaken by the Defence Force.

“I have showcased our need for Category D assistance at the Gardens and Zoo under NDRRA as well as putting forward a case for Category C assistance for small businesses.

“It is so important that our businesses see some light at the end of what has been a very tough few months due to the downturn in the resources industry. They need to see some good news coming.

“This marks Premier Palaszczuk’s third visit since TC Marcia and we were delighted to have her back. It is always warming to know she is only a phone call away,” she said.
