Microchip and save at Pets in the Park
Published on 21 October 2016
Bring your furry friends along to Rockhampton Regional Council’s Pets in the Park event on Sunday 30 October at Cedric Archer Park in Gracemere for some great savings on microchipping.
Councillor Ellen Smith, Chair of Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee, said Pets in the Park was a great opportunity for pet owners to save money on something that is compulsory by law.
“All cats and dogs from 12 weeks of age are required to be microchipped; this is sometimes costly for pet owners which is why Council offers this great service to our residents,” Cr Smith said.
“A microchip is the best chance your lost pet has at going home as the chip is permanent identification and for only $10 on the day, it’s peace of mind for pet owners.
“We’re also encouraging cat owners with nervous or anxious animals to come along and purchase a voucher so they can have their pet microchipped at a later date at the vet surgery.”
Cr Smith said several small business operators were taking part in the day with some great stalls selling pet products and treats already locked in.
Complete the Microchip Application Form at www.rrc.qld.gov.au and jump the queue. EFTPOS is available for payment at the event.
