Stimulus packages pave the way for footpath upgrade and economy boost

Rockhampton Regional Council has been quick off the mark to get its stimulus packages out to tender.
Nine separate tenders for delivery of footpaths totalling approximately $500,000 will be released this weekend.
Mayor Margaret Strelow said it means great things for the community and local economy.
“It's a double bonus - the extra footpaths are going to be very much appreciated by the community as well as provide the opportunity for local contractors to pick up extra work,” Mayor Strelow said.
This footpath bonus is on top of Council's normal annual footpath program.
The works will result in over 2km of extra footpath, with additions made in Mount Morgan, Gracemere and Rockhampton.
