Rockhampton Regional Council will release early drafts for consultation on Riverbank and CBD redevelopment proposals on 7th August.
Design work follows on consultation work in 2010 and 2011.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow says she is keen to receive community feedback on the project.
“We have engaged Urbis to start the process and so far they have put some wonderful creative ideas on the table,” Mayor Strelow said.
“This is part one of a three part discussion around the riverbank and urban core.
“Other discussion points around digital economy and master planning will come into play over the next few weeks.”
Mayor Strelow says renewal of the city core will be multi-faceted.
“Our key words are smart, creative and sustainable,” she said.
“We are keen to hear what that might mean from locals who have skills or ideas and then look at ways to achieve that approach.”
