Start planting, nurturing and growing your garden now and you could dig up the $2500 Grand Champion prize when you sign up for the Betascapes 2015 Spring Garden Spectacular.

Rockhampton Regional Council’s Parks and Recreation Committee Chair Councillor Cherie Rutherford said the annual competition always brought out the best in our Region’s gardens.

“For the past six years, our avid gardeners have poured in hours and hours of love and dedication to ensure their gardens are worthy and it definitely shows with their magnificent displays,” Cr Rutherford said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for garden enthusiasts and even those just learning the ropes to showcase their skills and talents, and they might just pick up that Grand Champion prize voucher of $2500 from Betascapes.

“Whether your speciality is beautiful flowers, organic produce or any other form of gardening, it’s time to get your hands dirty and show off your pride and joy!”

With more than $8000 worth of vouchers and prizes up for grabs this year, Cr Rutherford was encouraging entries across all ten categories.

“Again this year, we’ll be celebrating all forms of gardens across ten different categories catering from lifestyle and young gardeners to the old favourites such as native and flower gardens,” Cr Rutherford said.

“If you enjoy gardening, then give the Betascapes 2015 Spring Garden Spectacular a go - it doesn’t cost anything to enter and you might just take home a prize.”

Nominations are open now and close on Wednesday 30 September.

Entries are open to all Rockhampton Regional Council residents and residents located in Glenlee, Glendale, Rockyview and Nerimbera.
