Waste Transfer Station Community Open Day on tomorrow
Published on 23 October 2015
Let your Saturday morning go to waste!
...The Waste Transfer Station that is.
There’s plenty of fun to be had at Rockhampton Regional Waste and Recycling’s Community Open Day tomorrow.
Chair of Council’s Business Enterprise Committee, Cr Neil Fisher is inviting all to check it out.
“It’s a sneak peek of Rockhampton’s new Waste Transfer Station before it commences operation and a heap of great hands on activities,” Cr Fisher said.
“There’ll be fun for the young and young at heart, workshops, demonstrations and even chances to take home prizes.”
He said the event celebrates the benefits of waste disposal and just what’s involved in the process.
“When it comes to waste and waste disposal, a lot of people simply think of rubbish and a dump site, but in reality it’s so much more involved than that,” he said.
“We’re really keen to invite the community to see how it all works as well as learn about the other parts of the waste facility and the benefits they bring.”
