Playground upgrade complete for Joyce Harding Park

Joyce Harding Park is ready for play, with Council completing the upgrade this week.
Parks, Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford said the new all-ages playground features more than 100 play opportunities.
“There are so many exciting play pieces at the new playground designed to engage children in endless physical, social, creative, and imaginative play,” Cr Rutherford said.
“Boasting a Triple Tower with different play elements on each level, climbing nets, bridge, slides, a sandworks station and much more, families are guaranteed hours of fun.
“It’s exciting to be able to deliver yet another cutting-edge playground under Council’s Playground Equipment Renewal Program for our community and visitors to enjoy.
"Down the track, the amenities building at the park will be converted into two all-abilities family rooms, under Council’s Amenities Renewal and Upgrade Program.”
Divisional Councillor Neil Fisher said the completion of this project is fantastic for our local community.
“Joyce Harding Park is a popular spot for local families, and we know users will enjoy many hours of fun playing on the new equipment,” Cr Fisher said.
“The upgrade is particularly great for the school children and families nearby.
“The playground encourages the community to get out and about and adds another option for families, whether it's for a 30-minute play after school or a weekend picnic.
"I have no doubt a visit will be on the top of the local community’s to-do list."
Water and Environmental Sustainability Councillor Donna Kirkland said the new KOMPAN Greenline play equipment didn’t just tick the ‘fun’ box, but also the environmental box.
“The new KOMPAN Greenline play equipment is made from post-consumer recycled materials such as single-use food packaging, plastic bags, textiles, and fishing nets retrieved from the ocean," Cr Kirkland said.
“The new upgrade complemented the sustainable piece installed late last year.
“We’re so proud to have incorporated equipment into this playground that uses recycled materials and is less harmful to little people and our planet.”
The playground was designed and installed by award-winning playground designers Urban Play who are leading the way in sustainable play.
