Advance Rockhampton, Rockhampton Regional Council’s Economic Development arm, has launched its latest promotional campaign calling on keen mountain bikers to come and ride Rocky’s trails.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the campaign includes a brand new promotional video featuring the region’s two mountain bike parks – First Turkey Mountain Bike Park and Mount Morgan’s Mountain Bike Trails.

“With over 50 kilometres of trails right on Rockhampton’s doorstep, the region is fast becoming one of Australia’s must-ride mountain bike destinations,” Mayor Williams said.

“Rockhampton is lucky enough to have over 300 days of sunshine a year, and compared with well-known mountain bike destinations such as Blue Derby in Tasmania, we have the weather that allows mountain bikers to ride here year round.

“This latest video from Advance Rockhampton showcases the unique mountain bike trails we have here in region, including the stunning scenery you can take in as you ride our trails.”

Parks, Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford said it is great to have a new promotional video showcasing the region’s unique mountain bike parks.

“The Rockhampton region is blessed to have two unique mountain bike parks that are open at all times throughout the year,” Cr Rutherford said.

“First Turkey Mountain Bike Park and Mount Morgan’s Mountain Bike Trails at Mount Morgan No 7 Dam provide a range of trails to suit all skill levels, making both parks the perfect place for families and keen mountain bike enthusiasts to come and explore.

“With our warm weather all year round, both parks are also a great alternative for those looking to escape the cold seasons down south and enjoy a sunny winter holiday in our region.”

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden said the video from Advance Rockhampton’s tourism unit is another way the department is putting Rocky on the nation’s radar.

“Developed under the Explore Rockhampton brand, the latest promotional video showcases just one of the great experiences visitors can enjoy when they come and visit Rockhampton,” Mr Bowden said.

“The latest promotional video aims to target riders from across the nation to consider Rockhampton as a viable mountain biking destination.

“With the upcoming September school holidays and Christmas school holidays looming, we’re calling on all families who can travel to our region to plan their next holiday in Rockhampton.

“To help families plan their trip, they can visit the Explore Rockhampton website and find out all the great things to see and do when visiting.”
