Rockhampton’s Cultural Festival Saturday 26 August
Published on 01 August 2017
Exotic music, food from across the globe, colourful costumes and more…it’s a time to celebrate our great diversity at the Rockhampton Cultural Festival on Saturday 26 August.
Council’s Community Services Committee Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said Rockhampton’s popular Cultural Festival returns this year with a new time.
“Our annual Cultural Festival is about celebrating the many different backgrounds, traditions, values and beliefs of the people who make up our great Region,” Cr Swadling said.
“This year, the Festival will run from 4pm – 9pm and will feature the spectacular lantern-lit parade of nations, which I think will be a Festival tradition of our very own!
“Of course, festival goers will be able to tempt their tastebuds with a wide variety of delicious food, cooked by local members of our Region’s international community; or they can sit back and relax with live music and dance from far-away places; and even get involved with workshops and other activities – it’s a very family friendly and community-oriented event.”
