School holiday fun awaits at Rockhampton Regional Libraries

Rockhampton Regional Libraries are ready to keep the kids entertained and engaged these school holidays with a jam-packed program running from December through to late January.

Deputy Mayor and Communities, Culture and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said the program offers a wide range of activities, from Christmas arts and crafts to movie screenings, scavenger hunts, and more.

“We’re thrilled to bring our community a fantastic selection of free activities during the upcoming school holidays,” Cr Wickerson said.

“With something on offer at all four libraries including Southside, Northside, Gracemere, and Mount Morgan, families can enjoy a variety of experiences close to home.

“This year’s program caters to a wide range of interests, including creative crafting, virtual reality sessions, origami, gaming, and LEGO building.”

Councillor Wickerson said there will also be Christmas themed activities at selected libraries.

“Christmas is a magical time, and our libraries are embracing the holiday cheer with a range of festive crafts,” Cr Wickerson said.

“Kids can make ornaments at the Gracemere Library on Monday, 16 December or enjoy a Christmas crafting session at the Southside Library on Thursday, 19 December.

“Whether you’re looking for arts and crafts, movie marathons, or simply a fun space to play and explore, our libraries have got you covered.”
