See the Art Gallery at See it Live

Theatregoers attending any of the Pilbeam Theatre’s 2016 See It live Theatre Season shows this year will have the added bonus of being able to visit Rockhampton Art Gallery before the show.

Cr Rose Swadling, Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Communities Committee said that the Gallery would be open for 90 minutes before the theatre show started to encourage crossover between visual arts and the performing arts.

“With Rockhampton Art Gallery right next to the theatre, what better way to spend your time before a show than to visit the Gallery,” Cr Swadling said.

“These days people are very busy and have many calls on their time, so this initiative will enable them to experience exhibitions at Rockhampton Art Gallery and see a show at the Pilbeam Theatre all in the one evening,” she said.

“It is a nice idea for people to be able to complement their visit to the theatre to see one of the See It Live season shows with a visit to the Gallery.”

The first See It Live show will be Queensland Theatre Company’s Quartet, on Tuesday 1 March.

See attached list of See It Live Theatre Season shows. The Gallery will be open for 2016 See It Live shows from 6pm to 7.30pm, and will be open as usual on Sundays for See It Live matinee performances.
