Snip and Chip discounts available
Published on 29 May 2018
Pet owners in the Rockhampton Region may be able to access discounted desexing, vaccinations and microchipping thanks to an initiative from Rockhampton Regional Council.
The discounts, as well as $10 dog microchipping and a range of pet stalls, will be available at an event on Sunday 24 June.
Chair of the Planning and Regulatory Committee, Councillor Ellen Smith, said pet owners could save even more money by registering online first.
“Council is committed to working with residents to keep their dogs and cats happy, healthy and safe. That is why we are offering to subsidise some of the costs associated with having a pet.
“If you hold an eligible concession card there are significant discounts available to you, funded by Council, so that you can desex and vaccinate your pet without breaking the bank.
“Even if there are no concession cards in your household, microchipping is still available to all for just $10, with Council covering the rest of the cost.
“There are more details on our website, and you can also secure further discounts by registering online.”
Chip and Snip event: Sunday 24 June 2018 at Rigarlsford Park, 8am - 12pm.
Limited numbers are available, please register online if you wish to secure a discount.
