Ted Price Park scores further upgrades

Gracemere’s Ted Price Park is scheduled to receive further upgrades with the replacement of the existing pathway due to start later this month.
The perimeter pathway around Ted Price Park will be upgraded to a new asphalt surface to provide a safer pedestrian pathway for park users.
Rockhampton Region Councillor Ellen Smith said as the then-Deputy Mayor of Fitzroy Shire Council she officially opened the park in 2007, featuring a walking path and the region’s first fenced, leash-free area for dogs.
Cr Smith, whose division incorporates the park, said the park’s adjoining neighbours really stood up and took ownership of the space.
“By upgrading the pedestrian pathway we hope that Ted Price Park will continue to be an enjoyable environment for the public’s recreation activities and that the positive community vibe will continue to be reinforced,” Cr Smith said.
The works on the pathway are scheduled to start on Tuesday, October 18 and expected to be completed within two days (weather permitting).
There will be restricted access to some parts of Ted Price Park while construction of the replacement pathway is underway.
