Work on new Berserker Street footpath begins

Construction of a new footpath along Berserker Street between Charles Street and Rodboro Street (western side) began today.
Rockhampton Regional Council Infrastructure Committee Chair Councillor Tony Williams said the new footpath would lead to the Berserker State School.
“We’re injecting $40,000 into constructing a new footpath that will lead to the Berserker State School ensuring it’s much safer for children to get to and from school,” Cr Williams said.
“Works will include excavation of the site, laying the foundations and constructing a new concrete footpath approximately 150 metres long, which will be up to 1.5m wide in some sections.
“I’ve been liaising with the local residents along that strip and they’re pleased that the footpath is going ahead, particularly as the local students will benefit as well.”
Works will take approximately three weeks to complete.
