Smoke Alarm Installation Program

For a limited time, eligible individuals may qualify for additional assistance to install smoke alarms in their residences, ensuring compliance with the smoke alarm requirements and changes to the Fire and Emergency Service Act 1990, effective from 1 January 2027.

  • The one-off subsidy is $275 per eligible household.
  • Eligible individuals may combine this subsidy with any remaining funding from their Home Assist Secure allocation to complete the full installation costs of the smoke alarm upgrade.
