Bringing Nature Back
Our natural environment includes a range of ecosystems that support our Region. Our personal health and wellbeing, lifestyles, businesses, industries and the economy all depend on the natural environment that surrounds us. By using our resources wisely and taking care of our natural assets – our air, soils, groundwater, land-based ecosystems, freshwater rivers and wetlands, and our coastal and marine ecosystems – we are taking care of the environment that sustains us.
The Bringing Nature Back program is designed to connect our community with the natural environment and encourage local stewardship activities and generating opportunities for the wider community to contribute to the protection, maintenance and enhancement of our Region’s natural environment.
The Bringing Nature Back program is a key initiative to help prioritise a healthy natural environment under Rockhampton Regional Council’s Sustainability Strategy.
