Rockhampton’s Australia Day event is turning up the heat at the Rockhampton Showgrounds on Sunday, 26 January 2025 from 2pm – 8pm, with Great Australian Bites Rockhampton set to deliver a mouth-watering lineup of food vendors alongside lively entertainment from home-grown musicians. From the classic Aussie sausage sizzle to exotic Hungarian langos, there’s something for every taste bud!

Under the Big Shed, attendees can enjoy a sun-safe day packed with activities. The culinary offerings include:

• Carnival Favourites: Hot chips, burgers, dagwood dogs, hot dogs, doughnuts, and churros.
• Asian Delights: Stir-fry cashew nut, sweet and sour, honey chicken, Panang curry, dim sims, dumplings, spring rolls, deep-fried chicken, and fried rice.
• Sweet Treats and Snacks: Kettle-cooked popcorn in flavors like caramel, plain salty, chocolate, rainbow, toffee apple, and sweet & salty. Plus, colorful fairy floss and slushy drinks in blue lemonade, raspberry, and green apple.
• Gluten-Free Options: Salty pepper calamari and chips, gluten-free doughnut holes, and soft drinks.
• Classic Aussie Sausage Sizzle: Grilled sausages, bacon, egg and cheese burgers, served with cold bottled water and soft drinks.
• Hungarian Specialties: Traditional Hungarian langos with various toppings.

The Kookaburra Stage will feature a stellar lineup of local and emerging country music talent, including Gemma Kirby, Brad Butcher, and Lewis McKee. Meanwhile, the Big Backyard will offer games, free rides, and a chill-out zone to keep everyone entertained.
