About the artist

Having completed his BMus at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in Classical Saxophone Performance (2013), Shaun soon established himself as a professional musician and educator in Melbourne. Not only has Shaun worked with artists in the contemporary classical world such as, Claude DeLangle (FR), Phillipe Geiss (FR), George Dreyfus (AUS), He is also an experienced improviser working with artists Tobias Delius (NL), Ronny Ferella (AU), Scott McConnachie (AU) and many local groups around Australia ranging in styles from folk, chamber music, jazz, afrobeat and fully improvised music. Shaun has worked with orchestras such as iOpera, Melbourne Opera Company, ANAM Orchestra and has been a part of many World Premiers, representing Australia at the World Saxophone Congress in Scotland with Australian composer and percussionist Peter Neville’s piece, Compendium (2012). Shaun is driven to share his curiosity for sound and improvising in both classical and modern contexts from an educational and performance perspective.
