Women’s Health Information and Referral Service CQ Inc. (WHIRSCQ) aims to enhance people’s quality of life by providing a holistic service, contributing to the empowerment of individuals and improving the health and well-being of all women and their families throughout Central Queensland. WHIRSCQ works from a feminist perspective that values gender equality, acknowledges cultural diversity and provides a person-centred service delivery model. WHIRSCQ encompasses strength-based philosophies through open, honest and transparent therapeutic sessions with clients.

WHIRSCQ provide Free and confidential counselling and support in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and non-discriminatory environment. This service can be accessed face-to-face, by phone or video counselling.

General Counselling and Support:

Women 14 years and over
Any issue affecting the well-being of the client
Historical domestic and family violence
Information and Referral

Sexual Assault Counselling & Support:

Women, men & youth 12 years and over
Recent or historical sexual assault

Face-to-face counselling available at other locations by appointment:

North Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gracemere, Mount Morgan, Emerald, Blackwater.

Dignity Hub

Assisting women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing shower and laundry facilities, and where possible basic clothing, sanitary items and a meal.

Workshops

Facilitated by WHIRSCQ counsellors, on a variety of topics including understanding anger, confidence and self awareness.

Groups

Art and Craft group held 9.00 a.m. - 10.30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays

Regular groups by external facilitators, open to the community (including Tai Chi, Yoga, Mindfulness & Compassion Meditation).
