Planning for new infrastructure
Long term, region wide planning for infrastructure that integrates with land use planning is detailed in the Local Government Infrastructure Plan, contained within the Rockhampton Region Planning Scheme. The Local Government Infrastructure Plan outlines the trunk infrastructure our Region will need to support predicted future growth and development.
Trunk infrastructure covers five networks:
• transport (e.g. roads, bikeways, footpaths)
• stormwater (e.g. drains, water quality treatment, flood mitigation)
• community purposes (e.g. parks, sporting facilities)
• water (e.g. pipes, pump stations) and
• sewerage.
Trunk infrastructure is funded through infrastructure charges levied upon development as part of the development assessment process. View Adopted Infrastructure Charges Resolutions on the Infrastructure Charges page.
