Hazardous and Regulated Waste Disposal

Regulated waste that is permitted to be accepted at the Lakes Creek Road Waste Management Facility includes:

  • Animal effluents and residues (non-liquid) including abattoir effluent, poultry and fish processing waste
  • Asbestos
  • Biosecurity waste that has been rendered non-infectious
  • Food processing wastes
  • Sewage sludge or residues (non-liquid)
  • Tyres
  • Contaminated soils from sites registered on the Contaminated Land Register and/or Environmental Management Register which have a soil disposal permit

Any other regulated waste not listed above will not be accepted at the Lakes Creek Road Waste Management Facility, for example;

  • Liquid waste
  • Contaminated abrasive blasting grit
  • Oily rags, hoses and drums
