Derby Street, Allenstown (Kent Street and Denison Street) - Roadworks

Roadworks have commenced in Derby Street, Rockhampton between Kent Street and Denison Street. These works are estimated to take approximately nine (9) months to complete, subject to weather and ground conditions. Works will be carried out in two stages:

• Stage 1 - Kent Street Roundabout

• Stage 2 - Denison Street Traffic Calming

Council requests that drivers exercise caution and obey all signage whilst the works are being undertaken.

The full road closure of the Kent Street and Derby Street intersection, to allow the reconstruction of the intersection, is due to be removed in late November.

Traffic calming works have commenced in Denison Street between William Street and Stanley Street in October. These works will largely affect Denison Street between Derby Street and Stanley Street and will continue until December with intermittent lane closures and traffic control. Where possible, access to this section of Denison Street is encouraged via Derby Street from Alma Street. 

Detour routes will be marked and access to properties within the closed area will be available and traffic travelling through the area will be encouraged to travel around the wider construction area.
