Johnson Road, Gracemere - Tree plantings

The Johnson Road centre median strips will see 23 additional tree plantings across three species as well as new underground irrigation, increasing the area’s expected canopy coverage by 50% upon maturity, over the next 10-15 years.

29 trees will also be planted along the footpath on Johnson Road between Fisher Street and Bland Street, and a further 13 trees will be planted behind Waraburra State School along the footpath on Middle Road.

Species

The three species being planted are Lophostemon confertus, barklya syringifolia,andxanthostemon chrysanthus ‘Fairhill Gold’.

They were selected due to their history of thriving in similar conditions, as well as meeting safety criteria for street trees.

Traffic management

There will be minimal disruption to road users or pedestrians. Please obey all signage and exercise caution. 

Urban greening

All of these planting projects honour our commitment to urban greening and will further beautify the area, making for an aesthetically pleasing road, servicing a local primary school and other key community assets.
