Botanic Gardens and Zoo Redevelopment

This project will transform the Botanic Gardens into a botanical collection of regional and national significance, with playground areas, new pavilion structures, a new Fernery, and reinvigorated food and retail areas.
The Zoo will shine as a leader in animal exhibitions, conservation and welfare and will provide exceptional visitor experiences and new animal attractions.

Col Austin Park - Natural Resource Management

On-ground works are being carried out at Col Austin Park as part of Council's Natural Resource Management (NRM) Program.

Derby Street Reconstruction and Denison Street Rehabilitation

Roadworks have commenced in Derby Street and Denison Street, Rockhampton in February, and October 2024. These works are estimated to take approximately twelve (12) months to complete, subject to weather and ground conditions.

Announcement : Traffic calming works have commenced in Denison Street between William Street and Stanley Street and will largely affect Denison Street between Derby Street and Stanley Street. Works will continue until February with intermittent lane closures and traffic control. Where possible, access to this section of Denison Street is encouraged via Derby Street from Alma Street.

Duthie Park - Natural Resource Management

On-ground restoration of the vegetated buffer along the overland flow pathway (lower section) works are being carried out by community partners as part of Council's Natural Resource Management (NRM) Program

Farm Street and McLaughlin Street, Kawana - Roadworks

Roadworks have commence at the intersection of Farm Street and McLaughlin Street, Kawana. The works to be undertaken will include concrete kerb and channel modifications, footpath construction and asphalt overlay.

Announcement : During this time, the Farm and McLaughlin Street intersection will be under traffic control on weekdays. Please note, traffic control will not be onsite during the school term between the hours of 8am to 9.30am and 2pm to 4pm.

There will be some road closures and detours in place over various weekends. VMS boards will be installed a week prior to advise road users.

Fraser Park (Nurim) - Natural Resource Management
