How to Book
Follow the steps below to book a park for your special event.
Step 1: Select a Venue or Park
Select a park from our list of venues and park booking sites.
Council is committed to keeping our parks and gardens looking tidy and follows a routine maintenance program. However, please keep in mind no special mowing or servicing of parks occurs prior to events, and as such Council cannot guarantee the site will appear as it did on the day of booking.
Step 2: Submit your Application
Review the following criteria to determine which booking process you need to follow, and submit your application.
Temporary Event Booking
A temporary event is an event that involves some or all of the following:
- open to the public for entertainment
- requires exclusive use of the area or road
- will be advertised (this includes via social media)
- requires tickets
- food vendors and/or alcohol
- activities that may cause a risk (eg. fire twirling, juggling)
- more than 50 people in attendance.
To book a temporary event, you need to:
- Contact Customer Service to confirm your preferred date and location is available, and make a tentative booking.
- Submit the Temporary Event Application Form and relevant supporting documentation no later than 3 months prior to the event.
- Pay administration fee and await approval from Council.

Private Event Booking
A private event is an event that:
- is private and not open to the public
- does not require exclusive use of the area
- will not be publicly advertised (this includes open invitation emails or social media, or distribution to an unknown number of recipients)
- will not have any entertainment that may cause a risk (eg. fire twirling, juggling)
- will have less than 50 people in attendance
- does not involves animals (eg. pony rides, petting zoo)
- does not have a jumping castle.
If your private event fully complies with all the above, no further approval from Council is required. However, it is recommended you contact Customer Service to confirm your preferred date and location is not exclusively booked out for a wedding, ceremony or temporary event.

Step 3: Await Approval
Council will make an assessment on your event once it receives your application form, supporting documents, and the administration payment.
If your event is approved, you will then receive a letter of approval and confirmation of your event booking. All relevant booking fees must then be paid.
The approval letter must be on hand at your event and available to be shown as proof of booking at any time during the event.
