Mowing & Maintenance

Rockhampton Regional Council maintains approximately 1000 hectares of open space, parks and sports fields for the community to enjoy.

Our Parks team are committed to keeping our parks and gardens looking tidy and follow a routine maintenance program. Maintenance includes slashing, mowing, whipper snipping, tree trimming, mulching and more.

Our crews prioritise mowing throughout the warmer months of October - March to ensure the community can enjoy our open spaces to their full potential. When it rains, we face quicker grass growth and wet ground. The wet ground means we can't mow as fast or access some areas, causing delays to our mowing schedule.

Maintenance schedules may also be impacted by public holidays, weather, and machinery breakdowns.
