Fraser Park (Mount Archer)

Fraser Park is located at the summit of Mount Archer National Park and is a must see when in Rockhampton. With sweeping panoramic views, a treetop boardwalk and an exhilarating adventure playground nestled among the bush, it is a favourite for both visitors and locals alike.

Nurim is the traditional Darumbal name for Mount Archer, and Rockhampton Regional Council has worked with Darumbal Enterprises to make sure we deliver culturally significant stories, language and artwork at the site.

  • Nurim Circuit
Extending 25 metres off the side of Mount Archer, the 500 metre flat walking circuit and treetop boardwalk offers spectacular views of the city and the mighty Fitzroy River. Take in the views and check out the interpretive signage of the local Darumbal culture. The circuit is particularly popular with locals and tourists alike wanting to catch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
  • Amphitheatre
The outdoor amphitheatre is the perfect place to enjoy sweeping panoramic views. It seats over 200 people on locally sourced sandstone with an elevated grassed stage, making it perfect for concerts, events and weddings. Please visit our Book a Park page to book an event.
  • Playground
At the top of the mountain, nestled in bush land, there is an exciting adventure playground where children can weave through the totem poles, jump on the trampoline, or swing amongst the trees.
Notice of Works - please be advised that minor maintenance will be undertaken at Frazer Park Playground from Monday 18 November to Friday 22 November. The playground will remain open during this time, with the exception of the slide.
  • Walking and hiking
There are many walking and hiking tracks of varying difficulty throughout the national park. Along the trails, don’t forget to stop and take in the stunning views and gentle breezes on the way up or down the summit.
